heal my desires
emotional oranges, 2019
recommended for all of cortis
i feel like music connects us all; they share their love and passion by creating music and giving us great music to listen to. as their fan, there are other genres of songs that I love listening to, and i want to share it with them.
drops of jupiter
train, 2001
recommended for all of cortis
this song beautifully captures growing up, discovering yourself, and becoming someone new through life’s experiences. i love that it treats change with curiosity instead of fear, which reminds me of cortis beginning their own journey as artists and discovering who they are beyond being performers.
saturation III
brockhampton, 2017
recommended for all of cortis
cortis is so brockhampton coded and i love this album so i feel like it’s a match made in heaven
content note: explicit language, mental health themes, racism, violence
deep down
lexie liu, 2021
recommended for seonghyeon
this song is about finding the inner strength to be yourself, overcoming life’s pressures and challenges, and moving forward with confidence. i think he’d love the beat and atmosphere even before the lyrics. it’s one of my all-time favorite songs and something that really resonates with me. ♥
modern love
david bowie, 1983
recommended for martin
i think martin would really like the instrumental, and bowie’s overall 80s and 90s aesthetic feels very similar to cortis, always coloring outside the lines and refusing to be confined to one identity. the song questions modern love, attention, faith, and whether anything still feels genuinely connected to life, without ever giving a clear answer.
northanger abbey
jane austen, 1817
recommended for all of cortis
everyone should read at least one classic in their life, and northanger abbey is one of austen’s most fun and accessible novels. it explores growing up, friendship, social expectations, and the difference between imagination and reality, with one of austen’s best heroes in mr. henry tilney.
modal soul
nujabes, 2011
recommended for james
its not very lyrical, but it's a super atmospheric album. it's one of those albums you can't just listen to individual songs off of, it works together as a whole art piece and it's so interesting sonically and conceptually.
10 things i hate about you
patrick verona, 1999
recommended for all of cortis
though we’ve all probably seen this one but why not watch it again for the beauty of this piece can never be emphasized enough <3
content note: sexual humor, teen substance use
a cinderella story
mark rosman, 2004
recommended for martin
martin is so 2000s teen movie protagonist plus coers say he reminds them of a young chad michael murray. he has such natural expressions and potential for acting, as we've seen in what you want. him in a teen movie is what the people want to see.
love again
tarozan, 2026
recommended for martin and james
honestly, this i recommend the whole album for both martin and james. they like artists like slayr and perfume and i think the song/album give off vibes of both.
content note: explicit language
it’s not living (if it’s not with you)

por cesárea
dillom, 2024
recommended for all of cortis
the artist behind this album was generally criticized for the sound and the songs in general, and i think it's something they would enjoy without judging anything about the album. It's significant.
content note: explicit language, mental health themes, mature themes
thesis
alejandro amenábar, 1996
recommended for james
a dark psychological thriller, it may be a little more harder than the stuff he has recommended but i believe it’s a must-watch for this genre !!! spanish directors apart from almodóvar also deserve hype
content note: graphic violence, sexual abuse, suicide themes
anne of green gables
lucy maud montgomery, 1908
recommended for all of cortis
a coming-of-age novel about how family isn’t just the people you’re born with, but also the relationships you build. i also love that while anne is a dreamer and idealist, she still realizes she has to grow up.
it won’t alway be like this
inhale, 2021
recommended for all of cortis
honestly, this album is for anyone who likes that alternative rock indie sound that gives a dreamy feeling.
content note: explicit language
little women
louisa may alcott, 1868
recommended for all of cortis
a classic coming of age novel centered around the lives of a group of sisters. the character work in this is awesome and i enjoyed seeing how each sister grew over the course of the story. in a way, i also see cortis' music as the vessel to tell their 'becoming'
content note: death, illness, grief, poverty, war themes
