mary poppins
robert stevenson, 1964
recommended for all of cortis
sometimes all you need is a whimsical adventure singing supercalifragilisticexpialidocious when life gets too hectic. this movie reminds us all not to lose the joy and whimsy of youth.
esta saliendo el sol
intoxicados, 2003
recommended for martin
it’s a fun song about the sun. intoxicados is an argentinian rock band, its well known in latam. if anyone wants to start listening to latin music you can start with argentinian rock
clube da esquina
milton nascimento, lô borges, 1972
recommended for all of cortis
this is considered one of the best latin american rock albums ever by rolling stone, and it feels like such a beautiful piece of brazil, full of warmth, love, pain and a strong sense of culture. my favorite song is “um girassol da cor do seu cabelo,” and the melody and lyrics always make me cry.
swing girls
shinobu yaguchi, 2004
recommended for all of cortis
this movie, for me, is the epitome of the phrase “color outside the lines”. this movie is about a group of schoolgirls who accidentally form a jazz band and it is a super fun, dreamy indie movie i think they’d love ♡
te llevo para que me lleves
gustavo cerati, 1993
recommended for all of cortis
it’s a song I really like, and I feel like they could enjoy it too
life of pi
ang lee, 2012
recommended for james
its about pi's struggle with loss, fear, hope, and resilience as he shares lifeboat with a bengal tiger in the middle of the ocean for days. the film kind of question why you believe in what you believe. it's visually stunning and thought-provoking.
content note: animal death, violence
el templo del pop
miranda, 2008
recommended for martin
it’s an argentinian pop album, if he wants to get in to more latin music this is a great start
content note: explicit language
aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe
benjamin alire sáenz, 2012
recommended for keonho
swimming comes up throughout this book because dante is so fond of the water, and it kept making me think of keonho while rereading it. it’s an lgbtq+ coming-of-age story about two boys with the whole world ahead of them, and that sense of having such a big future still to discover is what made me think he might really connect with it.
content note: violence, homophobia, substance use
almond
sohn won pyung, 2017
recommended for all of cortis
this book is about a boy with alexithymia who struggles to recognize and express his emotions and the hardships that come with it. since cortis already does such a great job expressing themselves through their music, i think this book could give them a different perspective on emotions and help them explore that even further.
content note: bullying, death
brooklyn nine-nine
dan goor and michael schur, 2013
recommended for james
a genuinely funny show with many sentimental moments sprinkled in that i think james would love. :)
content note: sexual references
the high tide club
the poles, 2022
recommended for all of cortis
cortis has expressed an interest in british music and cited several brit bands as influences and inspirations. the poles draw heavily from britpop with a “boyish,” youth-oriented lyrical style, and since they’re also korean-based, i think their music could feel especially familiar within the korean music scene.
you’re in my system
toryonthebeat, 2023

coers who love house, make some noiiiseeee!!! love love house music, and im sure you guys would love this too :)
hug me as if we were to die tomorrow
wale the sage, 2026
recommended for all of cortis
i found this artist by accident and ended up really enjoying this album, especially “coastin.” i think all the cortis members would like it because the songs have catchy beats and are really easy to get into, and i’d love for coer to check him out and show some support too.
