betcover!!, 2021
recommended for all of cortis
the band blends jazz-rock, indie rock, great storytelling and it’s so good. i think they’d really like the overall vibe and the experimental sound that comes with it.
what you are looking for is in the library
michiko aoyama, 2020
recommended for all of cortis & coer
the librarian’s recurring question, “what are you looking for?” reminds me of cortis’s “what you want,” as both made me pause and reflect on life. beyond that emotional connection, this book is comforting and uplifting, especially when you’re feeling lost or down, and encourages you to honestly sit with yourself. i’d highly recommend it to cortis and all coers! :)
content note: body shaming, sexism, mental health themes
wallflower
dominic fike, 2026
recommended for all of cortis
this is one of dom’s newer songs, and i doubt cortis has had the time to hear it yet with their packed schedule. i’m recommending it because it’s definitely one of my favorite fike songs!

crucify me
brockhampton, 2022

i love love the piano outro.
content note: explicit language, substance references
honeymoon
lana del ray, 2015
recommended for all of cortis
honeymoon is one of lana del rey’s most underrated albums and arguably one of her best sonically and lyrically. i love how she blends classical sounds with unconventional structures and vocal techniques, and so many of the songs have aged beautifully.

the pink panther
henry mancini, 1975
recommended for all of cortis
multiple cortis members have shown to be interested in jazz, so i think they'd enjoy this not just as a theme song but the sound itself is very versatile.
six of crows
leigh bardugo, 2015
recommended for all of cortis
you can never go wrong with found friends/family. one thing i like about six of crows is how each character in the group has their own story and individual journey while still working well together.
content note: dark themes, violence, and trauma
the lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring
peter jackson, 2001
recommended for all of cortis
the og chosen one trope. i simply love stories about a group of unlikely people banding together to rid the world of a great evil. the cinematography is also great and has a mystical feel to it so it never looks outdated.
content note: fantasy violence, frightening imagery, death and loss
the chronicles of narnia
c.s. lewis, 1950
recommended for all of cortis
a fantasy staple everyone would enjoy, as well as the movies too. i like the idea of adventuring into the unknown.
content note: fantasy violence, death and grief, cultural stereotypes
the parent trap
nancy meyers, 1998
recommended for all of cortis
it follows two identical twins who were separated after their parents’ divorce and meet again at summer camp, where they scheme to get their parents back together. it also features the iconic “l-o-v-e,” song. it was so fun seeing lindsay lohan play both twins so convincingly that people thought there were really two of her lol.
ang huling el bimbo
eraserheads, 1995

need cortis to hear this filipino banger!! it's so good, i think they'll enjoy it a lot!

this is my favorite of jane austen's adaptations and has become one of my comfort movie so i would like to share it with the boys <3
content note: mild sexual content, underage relationship themes, alcohol use
dumebi
rema, 2019
recommended for coer & cortis
i have an agenda to put people on to afrobeats, especially rema's music, because i love it sm. genuinely, though, i think the beat of this song is something coers will like because we all like cortis on here, obv, so we all appreciate a good beat and rhythm.
why’d you only call me when you’re high?
arctic monkeys, 2017
recommended for all of cortis
it’s such a banger, especially late at night. it’s catchy, calming, and you’ve probably heard it somewhere on social media before.
content note: substance use, explicit language, mature themes
operation: doomsday (complete)
mf doom, 1999
recommended for all of cortis
such a good album to play while relaxing, really listening to the lyrics and letting the songs flow into each other. the interludes are some of my favorite parts, and the whole thing feels so authentic and nostalgic. definitely a must-listen for anyone getting into hip-hop.
content note: explicit language, mature themes
the fall
tarsem singh, 2006
recommended for all of cortis
the plot is so unusual and captivating that it keeps you hooked until the end. i think cortis would really enjoy the storytelling, acting, and stunning visuals, especially because there’s so much depth beneath it all.
content note: depression, suicide themes
