actually, bowie’s overall 80s and 90s aesthetic feels very similar to cortis. david bowie was also someone who refused to confine himself to a single identity, someone who always colored outside the lines. there was always a certain sense of alienation in bowie, as if he were watching the world from a few steps away rather than experiencing it from within. he built his own world without caring about what people thought he was supposed to be.

he seems frustrated by the fact that theres nothing left in people that feels genuinely connected to life, that everything has become about attracting attention.

thats why he says he wont fall for modern love. but theres a contradiction in that, because even this modern love seems to put its faith in god and in other people. he questions whether that kind of faith is enough or whether theres actually anything real left in it.

and ofc theres no real answer. that part is left for us to decide.
