modern love
david bowie, 1983
recommended for martin
i think martin would really like the instrumental, and bowie’s overall 80s and 90s aesthetic feels very similar to cortis, always coloring outside the lines and refusing to be confined to one identity. the song questions modern love, attention, faith, and whether anything still feels genuinely connected to life, without ever giving a clear answer.
modal soul
nujabes, 2011
recommended for james
its not very lyrical, but it's a super atmospheric album. it's one of those albums you can't just listen to individual songs off of, it works together as a whole art piece and it's so interesting sonically and conceptually.
love again
tarozan, 2026
recommended for martin and james
honestly, this i recommend the whole album for both martin and james. they like artists like slayr and perfume and i think the song/album give off vibes of both.

por cesárea
dillom, 2024
recommended for all of cortis
the artist behind this album was generally criticized for the sound and the songs in general, and i think it's something they would enjoy without judging anything about the album. It's significant.

clube da esquina
milton nascimento, lô borges, 1972
recommended for all of cortis
this is considered one of the best latin american rock albums ever by rolling stone, and it feels like such a beautiful piece of brazil, full of warmth, love, pain and a strong sense of culture. my favorite song is “um girassol da cor do seu cabelo,” and the melody and lyrics always make me cry.
te llevo para que me lleves
gustavo cerati, 1993

the high tide club
the poles, 2022
recommended for all of cortis
cortis has expressed an interest in british music and cited several brit bands as influences and inspirations. the poles draw heavily from britpop with a “boyish,” youth-oriented lyrical style, and since they’re also korean-based, i think their music could feel especially familiar within the korean music scene.
