sun bleached flies
ethel cain,
recommended for all of cortis and coer
“sun bleached flies” feels incredibly personal while still being easy to connect with, and i love how honest the lyrics are without ever feeling overcomplicated. i think cortis might really like it, or ethel cain in general, especially because of the strong atmosphere, storytelling, and bittersweet feeling that hits even harder toward the end. the line “if it’s meant to be, then it will be” also makes me think of how cortis found each other through their dreams and passions and built such a genuine bond along the way.
content note: religious trauma, abuse, death, grief
a$ap forever
a$ap rocky & moby, 2018
recommended for all of cortis
when i first discovered cortis, i immediately thought of this song. i know they love rocky, especially martin, so i think they’d connect with this. the harmonic shift towards the end also reminds me of their cotl days.

the tortured poets department
taylor swift, 2023
recommended for all of cortis
this album is everything, taylor wrote it after ending a 7-year relationship, dating a rockstar (for like a month) whom she has allegedly had a situationship with for 10 years, and finally meeting her now husband on her own tour.
content note: mature themes, explicit language
mataderos
saramalacara, 2026
recommended for martin
i think martin might enjoy this album by saramalacara, an argentine artist from mataderos, the buenos aires neighborhood the album is named after. it’s a very personal project about growing up in argentina, mixing argentine rap and rage with experimental electronic production, and i thought martin might find the underground sounds, different influences, and strong sense of identity really interesting.

ximena sariñana, 2021
recommended for seonghyeon
back in may, seonghyeon said in an interview: "i think i feel more comfortable figuring things out on my own. instead of asking someone for help, i usually find a way to solve it myself, one way or another." well, seonghyeon, maybe you can find a song to keep you company; there's a line in "sophia" that says: "the love of my life is me, because i'll always be with myself and i'll take care of myself." i think that fits him really well. :)
la sociedad de la nieve
j.a. bayona, 2023
recommended for all of cortis
based on a true story about an airplane crash in los andes, with a strong focus on friendship and survival. i think all the boys could connect with it, and the friendship aspect especially made me think of martin.

estrechez de corazón
los prisioneros, 1990
recommended for all of cortis
i saw someone recommend “tren al sur,” so i wanted to share my own little take with “estrechez de corazón” from the same album. to me, it captures the emotional distance of two people completely missing each other, paired with a rock sound and melody full of frustration and longing for a more understanding, less selfish love.
