ils me rient tous au nez
théodora, 2025
recommended for all of cortis
the song blends defiance, self-confidence and determination, turning judgment and mockery into strength. it’s about refusing to let others define your worth and continuing to work, grow and succeed even when no one believes in you.

red hearts
marlon funaki, 2023
recommended for all of cortis
marlon funaki’s music has a unique intimacy, fitting perfectly alongside men i trust and steve lacy but with a deeper, more nocturnal soul. his expressive guitar and warm, lo-fi atmosphere feel nostalgic, comforting and perfect for a night of introspection.
high school in jakarta
niki, 2022
recommended for all of cortis
the energy from indonesian coers at allo bank festival was unreal, and i think cortis might really enjoy niki, especially “high school in jakarta.” watching them perform brought me back to my own high school years, and supporting cortis still lets me revisit that fearless, free-spirited and inquisitive version of myself.

bury me deep inside your heart
him, 1999
recommended for martin
this song is (to me) a yearning song, i had a hard time listening to different genre of music but martin is one of the members that made me realize how pretty music can be no matter the genre.
when i discovered this artist i immediately thought martin could actually love this music.
anything you want
reality club, 2022
recommended for coer
a sweet love song without ever mentioning the word "love" in it :]
cuéntame
pedro suárez-vertiz, 1993
recommended for all of cortis
it’s a catchy peruvian pop-rock song, but beneath its upbeat sound lies a deeply melancholic story. it’s about loving someone unconditionally, even when they’ve almost lost everything and trying to remind them of the person they once were. i have a feeling you’d really enjoy this song<3

serpentskirt
cocteau twins, 1996
recommended for martin
martin would definitely love this. as a producer, he’d geek out over the spacey guitar layers, the heavy bassline, and how the vocals act more like a cool atmospheric synth than just a plain melody. it’s right up his alley for weird, immersive sounds.
the pilot </3
one ok rock, 2025
recommended for all of cortis
for cortis, who have been fighting since all of you were still teenagers. know that it’s okay to make mistakes, because you will continue to learn and love one another. for coer, who have also been fighting for yourselves. know that you will always find a home to return to. so it’s okay if you happen to lose your way sometimes, because you will grow through it. love and learn always. i hope this song embraces all of you the way it has embraced me. i hope your wounds heal soon and become beautiful, just like mine. ♡
nobody but you
sonder & jorja smith, 2021
recommended for seonghyeon
since hyeon mentioned that he liked rnb, specifically brent faiyaz, this kinda made me think of him? it has the same type of groovy mellowed out beat, so yknow he might dig it lol

gracias a la vida
mercedes sosa, 1971
recommended for all of cortis
“gracias a la vida” means “thanks to life,” and it’s a song about hope, resilience and unbounded gratitude for everything life gives us, both the happiness and the pain. my family has never stopped playing it, and i feel like it fits cortis so well because they’ve worked so hard to travel this far while creating music that expresses their freedom, youth and passion. they never choose what feels safe or expected.

i really think martin would enjoy kolohe kai’s sound, and this song fits his voice so well. i’d love for him to discover them and maybe even cover it someday.
mr. moral & the big steppers
kendrick lamar, 2022
recommended for coer
i would like to recommend this life-changing album for every coer out there. he is a genius when it comes to writing lyrics i swear you will be blown away by how his lyrics rhyme. also, since cortis is heavily hiphop based, I’m sure they also learned a lot from kendrick.
