money, money, money
abba, 1976
recommended for all of cortis
i find the similar titles funny but quite iconic. both songs reference capitalism in different ways. cortis' version has more of their personal stories.
come a little closer (unpeeled)
cage the elephant, 2017
recommended for martin
the original song is great, but i love this version more. there's a rawness to it that is captivating. psychedelic rock is an amazing genre. the song's lyrics urges people to see people for who they truly are, underneath false perceptions.
non, je ne regrette rien
édith piaf, 1960
recommended for martin
martin mentioned edith piaf in the paris vlog, so i'd recommend this song. i find the meaning of the song would resonate with him, and everyone too, to let go of the past and live without regrets.

nothing else matters
apocalyptica, 1998
recommended for martin
apocalyptica is a cello quartet that reinterprets rock songs, and this is their version of metallica’s “nothing else matters.” the climax near the end reminds me of the feeling i get from martin’s singing, especially the chorus of “nan chun,” where there’s an emotion i can’t quite put into words.
home sick
rad museum, 2024
recommended for martin
for me, this album carries so many emotions about love, especially the quiet pain that can exist alongside affection. each track explores a different side of it, like vulnerability, emotional wounds, separation, and romantic comfort, while still feeling connected as a whole.

the crux deluxe
djo, 2025
recommended for keonho
it has the same vibe as dominic fike, (specifically his sunburn and don't forget about me, demos albums). since keonho's a big dominic fan, the vibe of this djo album reminded me of him.

sonder, 2019

since james really likes brent faiyaz, i'm pretty sure he would love sonder since brent is the lead vocalist.

casablanca
bertie higgins, 1982
recommended for all of cortis
it carries a wistful, timeless atmosphere, with a warm and beautifully nostalgic melody. there’s something almost cinematic about the way it unfolds, and i thought its gentle charm might be something they’d really appreciate.
no. 6
kenji nagasaki, 2011
recommended for james
since he likes emotional anime like violet evergarden, he might enjoy no. 6 as well. it has a dystopian setting, but the main focus is on the characters and their relationship. it’s also pretty short, so it’s easy to get through.
content note: government oppression, state violence, medical abuse
absolution
muse, 2003
recommended for keonho
since keonho loves radiohead, i am sure he would enjoy muse, especially this album ;))
