good things fall apart
illenium, 2019
recommended for martin
i’d recommend this to martin because i really love the instrumentals and interpret it less as a heartbreak song and more as finding the good things even when everything feels like it’s falling apart. it’s also one of the songs i’ve played during a jamming session!
sept. 5th
dvsn, 2016
recommended for james
one of the best r&b albums ever, dvsn are so immensely talented and i think their music would be greatly appreciated by james (especially with how fond he is of pnd, i need him on this with me)
content note: explicit language, sexual themes, mature themes
fahrenheit 451
ray bradbury, 1953
recommended for all of cortis
a classic dystopian (not so dystopian) novel. like 1984 it makes you think and reflect
content note: suicide, self-harm, graphic violence, substance use, oppressive themes
coraline
henry selick, 2009

maybe they’ve already watched coraline, but i like it soooo much that i had to recommend it :) it’s a dark fantasy animated movie about a girl who discovers a seemingly perfect parallel world, only to realize something sinister is hiding behind it.

one ok rock, 2025
recommended for martin
i think martin would enjoy the rock sound in this song specifically and how wild/crazy it can get. it’s honestly kind of addicting to the ears.
i’m still here
walter salles, 2024
recommended for all of cortis
ainda estou aqui, or “i’m still here,” follows eunice paiva and her family after her husband disappears during brazil’s military dictatorship. i think cortis might like this emotional story about family, memory, loss, resilience and the fight for justice.
content note: military dictatorship, political repression, forced disappearance, grief, trauma
the sound of music
robert wise, 1965
recommended for all of cortis
a classic musical that never gets old! this movie shaped my childhood with iconic songs including yodeling (i'm sure Cortis would love that one), and it really emphasizes the power of love and family in the face of tyranny.
content note: antisemitism, depictions of war, mild violence
normal people
lenny abrahamson & hettie macdonald, 2020
recommended for coer
a raw love story. depicts quite realistic relationships, not just in terms of romantic relationships, but also friendships and the hardships you face in your 20s.
content note: sexual content, nudity, explicit language, alcohol
0.1 flaws and all
wave and earth, 2023
recommended for juhoon
this is one of my favourite albums ever. the instruments and vocals are calming and yet so powerful. it explores the dualities of human nature, accepting both our flaws and our best sides. i feel like this would suit juhoon well ♡

stop crying your heart out
oasis, 2002
recommended for keonho
i think he’ll enjoy the song (if he hasn’t heard it already) because he’s obviously a huge oasis fan as he’s said, and this is definitely one of my all time favourite oasis songs — it makes me cry every time i listen to it. it’s just such a personal and emotional song that really opens your eyes.

i just enjoy listening to this song a lot. i think everyone should listen to it at least once, even if it doesn't end up being your specific taste.
