it's a mexican movie from the early 2000s. i know james likes films that move him emotionally and i think this one would be a good option.

content note: death, harassment, sexual or suggestive content, moderate violence

its a documentary about street artists and the commercialization of art. its an interesting documentary satire that i think the members would enjoy since its a commentary on art creation itself.

content note: mild profanity, smoking, themes of illegal street art

“i know what it’s like to feel different.”

“i’m not different… am i?”

“we all are, him especially. but there’s something kinda fantastic about that, isn’t there?”

this movie has so many beautiful quotes, and i feel like james would really love the cinematography xx

monster has everything james seems to value: empathy, humanity, visual beauty, and personal storytelling that rewards attentiveness. its quiet cinematography, small gestures, and ryuichi sakamoto’s music give it enormous emotional weight. this feels like a film he could genuinely love.

content note: bullying, family conflict, mental health struggles, self-harm themes
