why they might enjoy it:
the book is set in a 2045 futuristic dystopia where people spend most of their time in a simulation world/game. the book is about the main protagonist going on an easter egg hunt in the simulation where the winner is given ownership of the game. very fun and easy read with high stakes and a lot of 1980s pop culture references that would open your mind and help you discover new songs and movies. it also makes you think about certain interesting themes such as technology taking over reality, corporate greed, pollution, etc. i think martin specifically would like it because he's into sci-fi and rock bands. it was also adapted into a blockbuster movie directed by steven spielberg.
