why they might enjoy it: yiyi is a taiwanese classic that—dare i say—features one of the best existential dialogues of modern cinema. although it differs from the genre of movies james has mentioned thus far, i think it may resonate with him not only because he grew up in a taiwanese family, but also because the film unravels like a universal testament to human life. you’ll see what i mean when you watch it—i highly recommend it for coers too!!
