why they might enjoy it:
this movie made me think of martin. maybe because of the way he always talks about wanting to love and be loved. there’s something about notting hill that feels very him to me, it’s not just a story about two people from completely different worlds falling in love. it’s about how scary it can be to let someone into your ordinary life when you’re afraid that love might not be enough to overcome everything that separates you. it’s about vulnerability, choosing someone despite all the uncertainty, and realizing that sometimes the most extraordinary kind of love can exist in the most ordinary moments.

and maybe that’s why i love this movie so much. love in notting hill isn’t portrayed as something perfect or effortless. it’s awkward, uncertain, sometimes painful, but still worth choosing. there’s this quiet yearning throughout the story that makes it feel so human, and i think that’s the part i’d especially want him to experience from this movie.

i also thought of him because there’s something about his voice when he sings that feels like it understands that kind of longing, like he really believes in loving someone wholeheartedly. maybe that’s why i feel like he might enjoy this movie too.

it’s one of my favorite movies. someday, when cortis gets to go to london, i hope martin and the members can visit notting hill together.

more than anything, i hope he’ll always receive the same kind of love he gives so freely through his music. he deserves to be loved just as deeply as he makes others feel loved <3
