why they might enjoy it:
i wanted to recommend this strictly from an aesthetic, conceptual, and narrative standpoint. the film uses music as a coping mechanism and escape from a harsh reality, balancing a beautiful dream-pop soundtrack with a painful look at bullying, isolation, and the psychological effects of peer abuse. it’s a very heavy watch, but i think martin might find the contrast between its beautiful aesthetic and brutal reality profoundly impactful.
