“do you know what tomorrow is? tomorrow’s my birthday!” 🎂

she says this ritual every day, always giving herself another tomorrow to look forward to. there’s something heartbreaking about it because it feels like she’s using that ritual to escape a reality she can’t bring herself to face.

i heard juhoon liked one million yen girl, so he might click with this too. they’re very diff. films, but both carry that quiet feeling of loneliness, emotional distance, and the desire to connect with people. this film takes those feelings and explores escapism, longing, trauma, suicidal thoughts, and the little routines we create to make an unbearable reality feel easier to live with.

you guys should watch this too. it’s really slow, but the visuals are so pretty, especially the framing, mixed-media animation, and those camcorder footage from them.
